Position:  Special Education Coordinator (Secondary Emphasis)

Grade Levels Served: Pre-K through Post Secondary

Position Summary:
The Special Education Coordinator provides leadership, oversight, and support for the district’s special education programs across all grade levels (Pre-K–12). This position ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while promoting high-quality instructional practices and positive outcomes for students with disabilities. The Coordinator works closely with administrators, teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success and program effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Valid teaching and/or administrative certification as required by the state 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in special education and/or school leadership, with significant experience at the secondary level preferred 
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
Key Responsibilities:
District-Wide Responsibilities (Pre-K–12):
  • Support oversight of special education services and compliance across all grade levels 
  • Ensure fidelity of IEP implementation and procedural safeguards 
  • Collaborate with building administrators to ensure consistency and quality of services
  • Demonstrate expertise in understanding special education evaluations and eligibility determination 
  • Interpret psychological, academic, and behavioral assessment data to guide decision-making 
  • Clearly communicate evaluation results and their implications to IEP team members and families 
  • Ensure district-wide compliance with all special education laws and procedures, with particular attention to secondary requirements 
  • Facilitate and/or oversee critical meetings, including: 
    • IEP (staffing) meetings with all stakeholders 
    • Manifestation Determination meetings 
    • Assessment Team meetings 
    • Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) meetings 
  • Lead complex or high-stakes meetings, particularly at the secondary level 
Secondary Program Leadership (Primary Focus):
  • Lead and oversee all special education programming and compliance for grades 7–12 
  • Monitor and support High School APR (Annual Performance Report) indicators, ensuring district performance targets are met 
  • Coordinate and oversee transition planning for high school students, ensuring IEPs include measurable post-secondary goals related to education, employment, and independent living 
  • Ensure transition services align with workforce readiness, post-secondary education, and community resources 
  • Provide guidance to secondary staff on scheduling, service delivery models, and graduation pathways for students with disabilities

Position: Maintenance Technician
School: District Level

​Qualifications:
· Responsible for the upkeep, repair, and safe operation of district facilities, grounds, and equipment.

· Ability to perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks across multiple trades such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.

· Safety Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to local board policies, building codes, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA) to minimize institutional liability and protect building occupants.

· Work Order Management: Prioritize and complete maintenance requests assigned through a central system, documenting labor hours and materials used.

· System Repairs: Diagnose and repair malfunctions in essential building systems, including clearing clogged drains, replacing faulty electrical switches, and troubleshooting HVAC units. (Preferred EPA 608 Certification)

· Grounds keeping: Maintain school grounds through tasks like mowing, landscaping, snow removal, and minor asphalt or concrete repairs.

· Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent or designee to support district operations.
